Welcome to the memorial page for

Deacon Andrew Cleveland

June 7, 1939 ~ May 17, 2016 (age 76) 76 Years Old

On Tuesday morning, May 17, 2016, a golden heart stopped beating. Deacon Andrew Cleveland, born July.7,1939 in Bastrop, TX, was the 2nd child born child to Ed and Willie Mae Cleveland.

A true man of faith Deacon Cleveland accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Creek, Tx. He later moved his membership and has been a dedicated member and Deacon of St. Johns College Heights Baptist Church since. He attended and graduated from Anderson High School and continued his studies at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX.

Deacon Cleveland worked for the State of Texas on the base of Camp Mabry where he retired after 21 years. After his retirement if you wanted to find him you could pass by the Church or the baseball fields and we guarantee he would be in one of those places. Deacon Cleveland loved to volunteer his time to whomever needed it and in 2012 was inducted into the Texas Senior Softball Hall of Fame by The Texas Senior Citizens Softball Association. He has received many awards and trophies to show for his love of baseball.

Deacon Cleveland was a devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend who was called to eternal rest. Even through his pain he never complained and remained humbly gracious for everything that God provided in his life. Although his physical presence will be missed by all. We still have him here with us spiritually.

Deacon Cleveland was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years; Mary Ellen Cleveland, his parents; Ed and Willie Mae Cleveland, grandson; Bobbie JaQuan Cleveland and great grandson; Robert McKinney III. Deacon Cleveland leaves to cherish his wife; Sharon Cleveland, his kids; Deborah Samuels, Sharon Cleveland, Yvette Hill( Valza Hill), Sandra Hill, Belvin Hill, Keith Hill(Jade Hill), Phyllis Hill, Tommy Hill (LaTonya Hill), Brenda Cleveland, Jessica Manor and Jameisha Thompson, his siblings; JoAnn Johnson, Hallie V Tinnon (Lavelle Tinnon), Naomi Cleveland, Willie Cleveland, Charlie Cleveland, Johnny Cleveland (Faye Cleveland), 20 Grand-kids, 30 Great-grand kids and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
